Brenda Black is an inspirational speaker, author, columnist, graphic designer and publicist, with nearly 5,000 published works. and the creator of un-numbered product brands, ads, blogs, posts and products. She owns and operates “The Word’s Out.”
Her articles have appeared in regional magazines and newspapers and in Ag industry and Christian publications nationwide. As an award winning author, her original works are featured in multiple anthologies, including Chicken Soup for the Soul. Brenda is the author and editor of several books, like I Stand – A Miraculous Journey from Paralysis to Praise co-authored with gospel music recording artist Pam Morgan. Best known for her devotional Were You Born in a Barn, Brenda has also published a child’s story book Cowboy Pete, along with several more works that range from poetry and devotional to biographical.
Actively involved in agriculture as a beef cattle farmer with her husband Alan, Brenda is an advocate for farming families statewide. She is a past president of the Missouri CattleWomen’s Association, and was doubly honored in 2013 as the “Missouri Cattle Woman of the Year” and the first Missouri State Fair’s “Woman in Ag of the Year.” Brenda fulfilled simultaneous roles on the national scene as the Region 3 Representative to the American National CattleWomen’s Communications Committee and six years on the national Cattlemen’s Beef Board, appointed by the U.S. Secretary of Agriculture. In 2014, Brenda was selected as one of three women to represent the CBB at the USDA Agriculture Outlook Forum in Washington, DC.
Her greatest callings however, are working alongside her pastor husband, lovingly ministering to a rural congregation where she volunteers as a Sunday School Teacher and a member of the Ohio Christian Church worship team. When she’s not running a business or serving the body of Christ, you’ll find Brenda loving on and spending time with her family. She’s Mom to sons Austin & his wife Laura, and Cooper and his wife Riley; and Grammy to four precious granddaughters!
